Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Sayou mobile application and related services ("Service") operated by Sayou ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Service Description

Sayou provides a personal saju (four pillar chronological analysis) reading and AI based counseling chat service. The Service includes:

A personalized origin reading based on your birth information.
System initiated daily self reflection prompts based on your chart.
AI generated counseling responses to your questions.
A personalized calendar with timing insights.
Push notifications for reflections and timing alerts based on your chart.

2. Account Requirements

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use the Service.
You may only create one account per person.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
You must provide accurate birth information for chart calculation. Inaccurate data will result in inaccurate readings.

3. Free Trial

New users receive a 7 day free trial. During the trial, Sayou sends you daily self reflection prompts based on your chart, and you can respond to them. No credit card is required to start the trial. When the trial ends, a paid subscription is required to continue receiving new reflections and using the counseling chat. Your origin reading remains accessible regardless of subscription status.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Sayou offers a single subscription, "Sayou Plus," available as a monthly plan (US$9.99 per month) or an annual plan (US$59.99 per year). Prices are shown in the app in your local currency and may vary by region.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase.
The subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless auto renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
You can manage your subscription and turn off auto renewal in iOS Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for the unused portion of a billing period. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Prices may change with advance notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.

5. AI Generated Content

All readings, counseling responses, and chart analyses are generated by AI systems. You acknowledge that:

AI generated content is not a substitute for professional advice, including financial, legal, medical, or psychological counsel.
Responses may occasionally contain inaccuracies or inconsistencies.
You should not rely solely on information from the Service when making important life decisions.

6. Content Disclaimer

Saju analysis and chart based insights provided by the Service are for personal reflection and self awareness purposes only. They are based on traditional East Asian four pillar chronological analysis and should not be treated as guarantees of future outcomes. The Service is a tool for personal reflection and self awareness, not professional counsel.

7. Intellectual Property

All content generated by the Service (readings, counseling responses, calendar data, chart analyses) is owned by Sayou.
You retain ownership of the messages and questions you submit.
By submitting messages, you grant us a license to process them for the purpose of providing counseling responses and improving the Service.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit Service generated content without our written permission.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service.
Impersonate another person or provide false birth information for a third party without their consent.
Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others.
Circumvent any access restrictions, trial limits, or subscription requirements.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

We disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non infringement.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@sayou.app. Upon deletion, your data will be removed within 30 days.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in abusive behavior.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any active subscription will not be refunded for the remaining period.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through the app. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms are posted constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts located in California.
